Seeking creative folk for Nuit Blanche

With the massive audience Nuit Blanche brings to downtown Toronto, many artists now choose to create their own installations, regardless of whether or not they are officially a part of Nuit Blanche.

We are looking for these artists in order to assemble and distribute a program for the renegade installations. This will offer people an alternative to the corporate-sponsored Nuit Blanche guide and provide publicity for independent projects. While we appreciate what Nuit Blanche brings to the city during those dark hours on an October night, we also understand the official event does not have the capacity to accept all artists into its program.

Les Rues des Refusés will aid in giving a voice to those artists who appear anywhere that night, from established venues to back alleys, from projections to poetry readings, from dance parties to anything your imagination can think up. The only criteria is a commitment to follow through.

This website will be our official listing for all renegade events. All events will also be culled into a pdf document that you can download from this site and print as a guide for the night of October 3rd, 2009.

If you are interested please contact ruesdesrefuses@gmail.com with a description of your installation, title, where and when it can be found, and any other pertinent information. We’ll get back to you with a confirmation, and may ask a couple more questions.

Deadline for final submission is midnight, September 19.
